This means that when John and Elly screw in the doorway, John adds about 8 inches to the equation.

Everyone should know how to take rough measurements with their body. For example: If I spread my fingers wide, thumb tip to pinky tip ~ 9". Middle bone of pinky ~ 1". My pace (two steps) ~ 5’. Of course men do have a tendency to over estimate the length of CERTAIN body parts. ;-)

Ironlegion. The “eh” in Canadian conversation doesn’t usually come out in written narrative since the writer has time to choose their words. What John actually said was "I’ll need some 1×6 eh,a cuppla 2×4s eh, 2 sheets of plywood eh,and 36 bottles of Molson Canadian you hoser!

Carl42sg. Lumber, and persons measurements, e.g. Height, weight, etc.are still measured imperial, not metric in Canada. And in football it’s 1st and 10 yards not meters.Actually it’s pretty hap-hazard as to where metric is used or imperial. We Re multi-cultural,and multi measurement as well.

Canadian men prefer to use centimetres over inches in some areas where a larger number is preferred, but revert to inches when measuring waistlines.

My shoes are a constant 12" long, which produces accurate distance measures for things like floors. Being a former museum modeler, I can judge less than a foot fairly accurately.

    .

    Carl42SG

Metrication started in Canada in mid 1970s and took about a decade to go through the various items, starting with Celsius, kiloPascals, and kilometers per hour. Anything new has resistance, and since liquid measures used both US and imperial amounts with the same name, I had fun by suggesting what we needed first was to split the difference between US and Imperial quarts. Total agreement. And then we could call it a litre. General sputtering.

I understand that these strips are repeats, but I thought Lynn was supposed to be overseeing them. This stopped being funny a long time ago. Especially after last week in the US.

Carl42SG. The longer, wider field reflects our great nations vast, endless borders. We got rid of 4th down because in Canada we like to “Strap it on,and git it done”!! (With apologies to Stephen King)

Miss scarlet Comparing you know who’s abhorrent behaviour to Johns familiar,good-natured tease is a little extreme don’t you think? It’s the kind of connection his supporters are trying to make by calling his words locker room talk.Lynn wrote this comic by the way,so she must have thought it was funny.we need not lose our sense of humour completely to respect each other as we should.

Maybe she should use some measurements of her own memories of her husband that will be considerably smaller…
