Cooking at home is cheaper than fast food or take out; and usually healthier. Microwaved potatoes are easy. Don’t buy too much packaged stuff, it’s full of salt.

    “Isn’t that expensive?”

Heh, you should try living in a “food desert”. (Anywhere where there’s no source of fresh foods within walking distance or that’s inaccessible to public transportation) That’s*REALLY* expensive, and it can mean having to live on fast/junk food ALL the time.

I worked in the fast food industry years ago, which cured me of any fear of cooking. (Or any desire to eat out, too.)

I agree with Penny, since I started to read her, I have been preparing something to take out the day before.

If you are lucky enough to live in a state that does not allow stores to have compacting dumpsters (CO,& CA) you are in luck You can do 80% of your shopping from behind the store. I ate like a king and filled my freezers and my friends as well on the throwaway bounty. The same goes for clothes, toy, and electronic stores. Many returns and floor models are sometimes simply thrown away. That expiration date on food is mostly a big LIE!Use your best judgement and enjoy the “Fat O’ the Land”
