In my case, my “pre-existing condition” was “being a white male who works in a ‘feast-or-famine’ profession”. I make too little to receive federal assistance with my premiums, and as a white male my state won’t help me until I’m logged in their system as receiving aid for something else. I’d likely have an easier time of getting a disability rating at this point than getting affordable Obamacare.
