Fair enough. Is the bug sitting on the dirty dishes with a big smile on it’s face, belching?

The bedroom of a teenage boy becomes its’ own ecosystem over time

My rule is no food in bedrooms. Then we only have to vacuum the crumbs in the common areas. The bedrooms only get vacuumed when the dust bunnies start attacking.

I eat in my bedroom. I always have done.

A little bit of space to yourself is no bad thing.

Details. Details. Why must you cloud the issue with facts?

Eating is done at the kitchen table – dining room on holidays and perhaps a snack in the living room New Year’s eve. If a beverage needs to be taken upstairs it goes in a cup with a lid and straw and is rarely done.

The only exception ever made to this (in 37 years we are married) is when husband had cataract surgery we came home and he was terribly ill as his blood sugar was low and he had me bring him up something to eat as he had to lie down and also needed to eat.

Would not let me include in above – Food which is not in an unopened can or glass bottle or jar is stored in a plastic box which locks closed – either the contents of open packages in individual boxes or the unopened packages together in larger boxes. Keeps mice and others away.
