the real answer, is that those are riding boots… it’s not cos of fashion OR sexual preference.

(And actually the guys in this toon aren’t wearing them.)

The high(ish…. they’re only about 2" tall)slanted heels help keep their feet from sliding too far forward in the stirrups.

The smooth leather sole and somewhat pointed toe make getting into the stirrups faster….and likewise free their feet more easily, so they don’t get dragged by the horse if they fall or get thrown.
