@ Dangerbunny Arlo & Janis is and was the premier (possibly only) daily comic strip that deals with the total aspect of married life. Yes, even the sexy bits. It has always managed (IMHO) do do handle the aspect with a sense of humor; eliciting more of a grin than a guffaw. Perhaps one of the more risque months in the strips history would be April 2008; the 7th & 10th. The 10th requires some understanding of what may have awoken Ludwig at 3 a.m. from his sound slumber at the foot of their bed. The rest of the strip is to elicit a well known nursery rhyme. Hilarious; once you ‘get’ it!
I’ve been asked to explain the April 7, 2008 strip I alluded to above.Panel 1: Janice is vacuuming under their bed and the vacuum is making a racket. P2: Janice is walking into the living room in a huff with clenched fists. P3: She drops a key in Arlo’s open hands. He says “Ha! You found the handcuff key!” P4: Janice walks away, still in a huff. Arlo: “As I recall, it was YOUR idea!” MY take is that they lost the key and couldn’t get the cuffs off. Leaving the reader to ponder how they got them off and if they had to get ‘outside’ help! Hilarious!!
Handcuff keys are best kept on a chain around the neck of the other participant. And.. a phone should always be in reach of the person handcuffed. Medical emergencies can happen. Keep it safe, sane and consensual
This brings back the wonderful memories of my late wife of 53 years. Arlo and Janice was one of our favorites because we thought it was cleverly done without saying anything.
It’s ironic how, when a comic is legitimately about the intimate relationship of a married couple, the two schoolboys who post on here and see something sexual in nearly every strip don’t bother to post.
This one was great, by the way! I’ve tried the same tactic.
Folks, wake up. You’re just responding to another troll. Just ignore them and they’ll go bother other people. Besides, we don’t know what Arlo wanted; he might have wanted her to watch a movie with him…
Dang, make a flip remark & wander away …. If anyone’s checking at this late point, my remark was of the ‘if it ain’t dirty, you’re not doing it right’ school of snark. This strip celebrates couple intimacies as well as could be done in the context of modern publishing IMHO, and I love it for that. Tones get lost on the net, and every so often one forgets that important consideration.

This is the dirtiest strip. Anyone else remember when there were movies rated M for mature?

Based on, oh, every strip ever, when WAS the last time these two “got together”?

See the strip icon. It’s about hugging. Nothing risque.

Quid and quo. They make the world go round.

The most important questions we should be asking are: is their bathtub large enough, and who gets the end with the faucet?

Your right. This is the dirtiest strip. For those with dirty minds.

Where did we go so wrong that intimacy in a marriage became dirty? Wow.
