RE Pink Floyd. Waters fired Wright during the recording of The Wall, but kept him on as a session player. The Final Cut was made without Wright, it came out in ‘83, and Floyd didn’t tour behind it.
As far as Roger was concerned that was the end of Floyd. Then Gilmore decided to keep using the name when he recorded Momentary Lapse of Reason, which wasn’t until ’87.Mason and Wright were members, but their involvement was limited. The Division Bell was a true group effort.
So, basically, Floyd was not a going concern at the time this strip was written.
They left out my 2 favorite strips in this arc. 1. David Lee Roth grabs Opus and swings him around like a rag doll. 2. the old farmer who owns the land the festival is being held on yells “Stop foolin’ around in my beans!”

During this arc, Opus met Boy George and introduced himself as Penguin Opus; for a long time after that, he was officially called P. Opus.

Ah, some classic hard rock tuba. You don’t hear it like that anymore. These kids today don’t understand their own heritage…

The new strips, while good, just don’t match the originals for some reason.

Personally, I think Jerry Zuchmeister and his Albuquerque Fatboys would have brought down the house.
