My folks rather ticked off the neighborhood footballers by building the first fence on the block. But they had a three year old and a aby to keep from going out of bounds.
Happy memories – playing football (you lot probably call it soccer) on just an empty patch of grass. As long as it was big enough to fit a half a dozen of us on (or more), an impromptu game always broke out, with shirts or bags for goalposts.
