Actually, paper products are a proof that trees are being saved. In South Mississippi, trees are treated like a crop. The pine seedlings are planted in large numbers. After a few years, the trees are thinned out by harvesting some of the young trees to be used as pulp wood. A few more years later another thinning is done for pulp wood and rough lumber. The process is repeated until the rest of the crop is harvested, and more seedlings are planted.
