It’s been months since what I think was the last original panel–they’d been in a plane crash and a tiff was brewing, I’ve been dying to see how that pans out.
I’m also interested to know why Corey keeps up his other strips but hasn’t been doing the same with Barkeater Lake (my favorite aside from Toby). Forgive me for being a neophyte here!
Barkeater Lake (and the other Pandolph comics) have been in reruns for some time. The only comic that has had original material appearing on a timely basis is The Elderberries, and that’s because Corey was on contract.
Let’s see, this is the second, or third restart - let’s see if they get on a regular schedule of posting old comics. Need to find out what happened to Banks!
Go Jints: No, That one died in the crib. It’s a shame he doesn’t have better time management or more money or other people helping him. This actually could have been a decent comic strip.
It IS a decent strip. Although he’s always believed TOBY had more commercial possibilities, I still believe BL is his magnum opus. The sympathy he built up for Delores along with the cast of whimsical supporting characters combined to made it one of the better human interest strips running. He has rebooted it from time to time, which I regret only because it was never necessary - every strip starts out unevenly, but the best ones come together and grow along with the readership. Wherever Barkeater Lake turns up, I plan to be there for it.
I agree, Toby sucks. How many jokes can you do with a robot satan living with a munchkin? Toby was in reruns when it was still first-runs. Pandolph was recycling jokes as it was.
But Greene with Envy had great potential. Sorry to see it go. After BL it was the best thing Pandolph ever did, including Elderberries.

I thought it came back a few months ago – then stopped. This sounds more like it’s going to be permanently stopped after the 27th.

It isn’t stopping, just leaving gocomics.com. See an interview with Corey Pandolph at

Interview is from June 2009, not really news. More interested in whether Corey is gonna go back to barkeaterlake.com or somewhere else.

Is it leaving or is gocomics gonna keep this last toon up like they have “Maintaining”?
Sorry to see you go Corey, but make sure they take it down, please?

Well, 2 days left.
Then we’ll see. We’ve heard all this before.
