    Those who are only familiar with Picasso’s mature work may mistakenly think that he did it only because he didn’t have the talent to do traditional representational art. Wrong. Look at some of his earlier stuff to see that he was fully competent at it, just eventually chose to go down a different road.

    My first Mr. Potato Head consisted of just the body parts. You had to supply your own potato. So I had Mr. Idaho Potato Head, Mr White Potato Head, Mr Red Potato Head, Mr Yellow Potato Head, … The body wasn’t included until 1964.

    He actually didn’t start drawing and painting in the way he is known for till much later. He did beautiful but conventional art before he went wild.
