So, according to legend, Sisyphus, and punishment for his behavior, had to roll a giant boulder to the top of a hill. But whenever he got near the top, it'd roll back down the hill, and he'd have to start all over again, for eternity! Uh-huh. And what did you want to ask me? Laundry. What behavior am I being punished for?

My mom used to quote this poem frequently: “Man works from sun up to sun down, but woman’s work is never done.” She explained that while we were sleeping, laundry is getting dirtied, stomachs are getting hungry, dust is collecting…
Not that I love laundry, but I’ve made it as easy as possible. I have baskets for each type of load in the laundry room. Everyone’s dirty laundry is to be brought to the laundry room by them. (There’s a chute for hubby to use from our bedroom.) I sort the laundry each time I step foot in that room (which also happens to be our closet) so it is easy to see which load is full enough to wash. Also, the laundry room is on the same floor where I spend most of my awake time, so no going up & down the stairs. I gave up ironing. If just tumbling out the wrinkles isn’t good enough, than it needs to go to the cleaners. (Just ironing with water I can do, but ruined any that required starch. But it takes so long, and doesn’t last, that I just can’t spare the time to do it for every day wear.)

Time for all the y chromosome crowd to start doing their own laundry. Eddie will need some help, but the rest of the crew should be able to do it alone.

When I lived at home I had a pile of dirty clothes on the floor. I’d pick them up, wash and dry them, and put them on the dresser. Throw them on the floor, repeat.
The job I find goes on and on is trying to contact anyone and get anything accomplished. I am in the middle of 5 different problems and I call and reach no one, or they have to do something and I have to call again. Some of these have been going on over a month!!

I lived somewhere where I had to wash my clothes by hand. Laundry machines have never since lost their magical quality!!! You just push the button, walk away, and elves do the scrubbing and wringing for you. Hallelujah.
