With my dogs the problem is them slobbering on the Comics.

The solution to that is to read it on your phone, that’s what I’m doing.

Buster is welcome, however to wrinkle up the opinion page.

A wrinkled mess would be the least of my worries.

Well, Walter….. if you would just show Buster his own picture on the comics page,

I’m sure he’d want to preserve it.

Maybe after everyone has read the comics, you could even cut out today’s “Ballard Street,” and frame it.

Then Buster will want to read it every day, hoping to see himself in it again…..

But he might get a bit jealous….

Scooter is featured a lot more often, because….well, frankly, he has more photogenic talents….painting, shooting cap pistols, tying his own shoes.

    Yeah, sure….

    Buster can read the paper….

    and that’s quite a talent!

But a big brown dog just standing there, reading, isn’t really as exciting to watch as a big white dog playing baseball.

And his skillfulness actually makes it less visually interesting…

He’s such a good reader these days, his lips don’t move when he sounds out a sentence…

And by now, he seldom needs to go look up words in the dictionary.

By all means, Buster, preserve the comics !

    .

But feel free my furry, four-footed friend to furrow or fold the financials, nibble on the news, eviscerate the editorials and poop on the political pundits !

    .

Just remember that the sports are sacrosanct and the cartoons consecrated !

Well, at least he has a comics page.

The local rags are nothing but a delivery system for add inserts.
