I still have a dumb phone and hardly ever use that. I hate having a leash, and just boil when people keep checking their phones while I’m speaking to them. (Maybe I need to learn some new jokes, come to think of it.)
Apparently he doesn’t have an Android on Verizon. Our son’s phone is continually going over the plan — yes, he uses data, but the silly phone does so many “updates” that he is 75% expended within the first week. Even after upping his data plan.

Are you three on a family plan? It only takes one time to go over & the internet service will eat you alive!

It’s not like she’s in immediate danger of causing a big bill or even a ripple….
.even if she has only I Gb a month, the very cheapest data plan you can get for a smartphone……
(which is what that looks like)
…she’s only using 1/20th of it.And if it’s a family plan, very few people now get one with only 3 Gb to share….
especially if the sales rep sees that they have a teenage son.
Besides… most companies put an app on your phone….,
so all she’d need to do is open it to see how much she’s used and how much they have left.

Going over isn’t as much of a worry as it used to be, not when you can get unlimited for around $40/month.

We have a shared plan and rarely use more than 10% of our plan, which is surprising as my wife’s game-addicted 25 yo son is on the plan.
