    Our local McDonalds just installed these touch-screen order stations that are feet away from the cashier. It’s so awkward ordering with the machine while the McDonald’s employee is standing there waiting for someone to order from her.

    yes: look for maps, look for information, loop up how to do things.no: do what you could do by simply looking up and opening your mouth, because there is an app for that. There is also your mouth and your eyes and your neck, so you don’t get a hump

    I love using apps, but not when it is slower than doing it the “old-fashioned way”.

    Junior’s right about learning to use apps, but for the wrong reason. Why wait in line when they’re busy if you can use your phone to order and have them bring it to you at your table.
