She’s right about puppies being a lot of work, try a rescue dog instead. Right now the service I foster for has a 2 y/o male shih tzu that needs a home, he’s already trained and very loving. There are a lot of heart-breaking stories out there and all they need are loving homes.

Nothing hypocritical here. She’s saying, “Don’t give yourself more work than you need. Then you won’t have the time and energy for my assignments.”

I doubt any book report ever piddled on the carpet.
