Not cold down here in the south, it’s still warm. Worse yet, we have a drought.

I met a woman who swam the English channel a few years ago, and she was coached by 42-time channel swimmer Alison Streeter. The first thing Ali had her do was put on weight. Subcutaneous fat protects cold water swimmers from hypothermia. Frazz is just too skinny to be a cold water swimmer, and wetsuits only go so far for keeping a person warm.

HOT Shower, hard rubdown with a big thick towel, and layering with more then the t-shirt and coveralls. You have to have some long sleeved light to mid weight undergear to wear living up there.

My 92 year old Mom was an open-water swimmer (lakes and flooded quarries) until she was in her early 80’s. She did this in southern Wisconsin and would usually start in early April and try to continue until late October. Although i was a competitive swimmer this was never something I felt compelled to do but just because I didn’t take part doesn’t mean that nobody else should – to each their own.

And again BigPuma doesn’t see the little joke there or even try to. Salud to Darwinskeeper for trying to get through but it’s an impossible task so don’t expect much. But he was right in that your reply was excellent in my far-from-humble opinion.
