It’s easy if you have a rich surgeon supporting you.

Explain to me again why Lila didn’t just move in with them, rather than getting to adopt Annie?

Well, here we have a living specimen of one who thinks the “good ol’ days” were early 20th century, before they even lived. That is what happens with multinational capitalism makes a major country its slave. Breaking up villages by urbanization following WW-I was followed by breaking up multigenerational families during and following WW-II.

    .

Eisenhower made only two significant speeches. The first is never quoted but was followed, breaking up the nation: “you can’t legislate morality” and Massive Resistance followed, with that quote its battler cry. All legislation is an attempt to legislate some moral code or other. The second is often quoted but never followed: the warning about “the power, sought or unsought, by the military/industrial complex.” The battle currently waging over a militarized pipeline company bulldozing a cemetery is proof that power has been achieved.

I think Alan is a sweetheart. He’s a fussy dad, but nonetheless.
