Sounds like an excuse to avoid costumes – also didn´t he allready pick Orson Welles?

How despicable. Since when are there real-life cyclopes? (What would be offensive of being a “Despicable Me” minion with two eyes?)

I’m reading the latest in the Halloween costume controversy. I see a possibility, that may in fact be the reality of where the next few days after Oct 26 could go. Mom says:Zack, have you been taught about the Declaration of Independence? Zack: sure. M: so what does it say? Z: when in the course …. uh …. M: ok, but why? why did they do that thing, declare independence? Z: because … M: because they couldn’t put up with the stuff being done to them? what’s being done to you? Z: we’re being told not to wear costumes we like. M: so does it make sense to be told that? Z: no, it’s … stupid … we’re just trying to have fun, and they say we can’t have fun if somebody else feels offended, but they’re just making up being offended, and we’re not really being offensive. oh boy, this is difficult stuff.M: that’s what those people thought too, but they got brave because they thought it was really, really important. and they had help from older people who understood what was happening. all the older people in this house are ready now to help you and your friends. how about, when in the course of dressing up for Halloween, we get told stupid rules about what to wear … Z: but the school board might come after us. M: yeah, but back then, they thought the whole army of the King would come after them. some times, you have to grow up early, maybe much too early. Z: are you saying it has to be our turn to be brave? M: it’s all our turns to be brave, the whole house.

Maybe he ought to go as an old man (or woman). I think senior citizens don’t worry about satire.

Go as whatever you want. I am so sick & tired of everything being offensive. Do it and tell it all like it is! Everyone is so afraid of offending people. It’s nuts these days. Bring back the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s!!!!

Sweatshirt/t-shirt reading “This is my Halloween Costume.”

Or would that be offensive to the illiterate?
