Adam: Katy, life isn't all about money. Katy: Oh, I know. But money equals ponies. Adam: Sigh. Can I level with you? It's unlikely we're ever going to get a pony. Are you not talking to me, now? Katy: Shh. If you listen, you can actually hear my youthful spirit being crushed.

“Children should be put to work, not heard.”
.
Forgot where I heard that. Katie is growing up very fast. Soon she will be burdened with child production so the corporate-church-state can have its soldiers for wars, very Holy Wars. But until then she can toughen up for the future and start earning that scratch to help mom and dad pay those bills.

The cost of having a pony isn’t the price of a pony. There’s the stable to be built with the appropriate zoning codes to navigate. Then there is the cost of feed, which leads to the cost of removing the manure. And the vet bills can drain a healthy bank account. There is a reason why it is call being horse poor.
