The scary part is how many guys think hunting means drinking at the same time. I haven’t hunted for years and years now… but I remember seeing more than a few guys carrying rifles and shotguns while being pretty much faced. I do my hunting and gathering in the frozen food section at Safeway these days. I won’t even kill the odd mouse I find in the house. I take them outside after giving them a stern lecture, and let them go.
Hunters and fishers were the first conservationists. City hunters and fishers leave (No pun) beer cans and spools of fish lines in trees (How did they get that Hula Popper way up there? Oh, the beer.) A city boy can’t do woodland math, the daily take is inversely proportional to the beer consumed.
Wish me luck, I get to sit and listen to people give speeches all day today and all day tomorrow… I’m REALLY going to need a beer after this week’s over!
I agree Cute Little Sister. Someone commented yesterday that Wolfie seems to have replaced Clumsie Carp. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but it has been a long time since I’ve seen him. I know that these characters were for the most part named after people in Hart’s personal life. Clumsie was one of them. I hope he hasn’t been booted out of the cave.

Oh yes I love it. Now if only he falls out of the tree.
Dear Mastroianni and Hart, How about showing the characters like Grog, more often. I just feel that you have been neglecting some of the characters.

Where can I find a beer tree? (Root beer and birch beer don’t count.)
Is there Schlitz beer in the woods?
MontanaLady about 14 years ago
If a beer can falls in the forest, and no one is around, does it still make a sounnd???
Good morning, fellow cave dwellers!!

True, when Johnny Hart (R.I.P) was calling the shots, Grog was always around, much like our own Grog on these postings.

I don’t need to climb no stinkin’ tree to drink beer. I can do it right here in front of my computer!

Good Morning O’ Commentators of the Cave
Where I live, they sit on their trucks, drink beer, carry large caliber weapons and stare across the road looking for deer.

For a hilarious Michigan take on this try Jeff Daniels flick: “Escanaba in Da Moonlight.” if you can find it.

Something is a foot - maybe it’s the foot dangling from the tree…

Don’t feed the beers.

I would find this to be more humorous if it wasn’t so true… “If you pack it in; pack it out!
