How much did Charlie Brown pay for Snoopy as a beagle puppy?

Snoopy’s thanking Charlie Brown for his “forever home”. This almost sounds like a strip that “Mutts” would run (if you read “Mutts” for any length of time you know the artist is very much into getting pets adopted).

Has Snoopy finally understood how lucky he is? It’s not often you see him being grateful to the round headed kid… without being food involved that is.

Don’t breed or buy while shelter pets die. Shelters have lots of “purebreed” pets too.

Please don’t forget your local shelter. They have great pets that need new homes. Every shelter pet deserves a forever home… :)

And don’t forget cats! At my local shelter everyone wants kittens while many beautiful full grown cats languish in cages. BTW: every cat I have ever been owned by came from my local shelter or my vet and I have never been disappointed! Many have been “bottle babies” and that means feeding them both day and night, just like a human baby. Also bottle fed 7 baby skunks whose mom was killed by a car. They all survived and went to a nature center where they were turned loose in the woods.

don’t trash breeders. You cannot always find the dogs you want at the shelters. Instead lets help people chose dogs that fit their lifestyles so that they don’t end up in shelters. Lets help people understand the dogs mating cycles so that they don’t have Opps litters (there are benefits to waiting to spay and neuter). I’ve had shelter dogs and bought from breeders.

Aww how sweet. I wish my cats were as thankful, I often remind them of how I rescued them and where they may have been if I hadn’t rescued them.

And some day Charlie Brown will understand what that was about.

I thought he was going to find Beagles dirt cheap and be mad.

my cat was also pre-owned and she was a 1-year adult cat when I got her. She’s the best pet I ever had, we’ve been together for 4 years and she expresses her gratitude by trying to groom me, purring of course and more material “gifts” (although less desired like mice, lizzards etc.),she’s spayed goes without saying, or else I would have to put with 6 undesired kittens every 6 months!

The only time I recall seeing a price mentioned was when Charlie Brown snorted, “HA! His kind are a dime a dozen!”

We have “bottle babies” for our cats – always have, for the past 30 years. The latest two (Hidden M-Genda and Dimpled Pumpkin Mousse) are now 7 months old – one spayed and one neutered….Genda is a polydactyl and “Plumpkin” is a big orange fur ball….and a Ragdoll…raising them this way always makes them more “human.”

Our latest “foster” which we’re keeping was an emaciated mess when we picked him up from the kill shelter. His owner threw him out and he was near starving when the shelter got him. When we picked him up you could count every rib and each vertebrae in his back. He didn’t know what a toy was and couldn’t catch a ball or a treat. Now he’s a healthy weight and loves chewing on sticks when he’s in the yard or one of his many plushie toys in the house. A few months ago he was in the yard lying in the sun, a chewed-up stick under his paws, and sleeping with such a contented look on his face.

According to the video (URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFAWuYPuvhM) of the 1991 TV special, Charlie Brown bought Snoopy for $5.00.

    @Snoopy_Fan

Guess I don’t know as many people as you then because everybody… Yes, everybody, I know have started work earlier than me. That’s why I thought it was bad.

In my opinion, whether it’s temporary or permanent. Paid work is still a “real” job to me. So you really started in the “working field” at 17. Even though it was not what you wanted. That’s just the way I see it but we’re all different.

Like everybody else, I like having free time but I’ve had far too much of it lately and I don’t want a lot. It’s not like I go away on holiday or anything. When I start work, I’ll only have weekends and that’s just enough for me. Oh, I should add that I get 28 holiday days.

Phew! I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates summer. Everybody thinks I’m some sort of alien just because I don’t like summer and the warm weather.

Thank you for your long comment! I know you get tired out by Friday and don’t always feel up to writing a long comment. So I appreciate it.

    Have an awesome weekend!

    xxx
