That was my Dad’s job (fixing TVs), now you can’t find anyone to repair TVs, at least in my town…My question is how many TVs does Jones have, I got rid of a dozen when my Dad died. 3 decades ago…
Sears wanted to charge me more just to look at the stove problem than the repair would have cost, but at the same time tried to sell me a service plan. I know what is wrong with the stove and if I had the tools, would fix it for under $10. I told the Sears person that I didn’t want the plan just the stove fixed. Gave up counting how many times and finally said to cancel the service call and hung up. A couple of days afterwards, I was called with a confirmation of the service call. And, so it goes……….
While the TV is really old the truly amazing thing is he managed to even find a TV repairman and one that actually makes housecalls, talk about DINOSAURS.

Are you kidding? I’ve seen those models of TV sets when I was a kid! Some of them were the size of cabinets!

At least those old TV’s could be repaired, a lot of them by the owner. Spent several years in the TV repair service and remember them well.

They don’t need to be repaired these days, because the owner has upgraded to a new version or size long before anything can go wrong.

TVs have been like disposable lighters for at least the last 15 years.
