I remembered our anniversary one year right at the last minute. Went to the card rack and grabbed the first one I liked and thought she’d love, didn’t actually read it. Turned out I had a birthday card, which was 3½ months later.
Since I worked out of the house, I would occasionally pick up some little goody (like a special coffee cup or a plaque) and surprise him with it. Often, it was just a modern card.

They are such a happy couple. Still calling each other “dear” after all these years, no wonder Fred is such a happy dog!
