I watched the first episode of Dirk Gently, and I just cannot get into it; it’s just too weird, which, for me, is saying something. I do, however, like the two police detectives.
I was raised that women can do almost anything a man can do and vice versa. When I got married, my husband and I wound up with “reversed” roles. I took care of all the mechanical stuff and yard work. My husband took care of cooking dinner/laundry. Child care was shared pretty equally. Made finding cards for each other challenging. Also gift giving. I got the power tools. He got the cook books. No wonder our daughter was confused. :oD
Yakety Sax wrote “Oh, if I could but live another century and see the fruition of all the work for women! There is so much yet to be done. Susan B. Anthony”— That would be up to 2006. To judge from what modern feminists say, not nearly enough fruit yet, and so much yet to be done.

Have not been able to sit the first episode, yet……….my ‘Benny Hill/Red Dwarf/Hitchhiker’s sense of humor seems to be broken at the moment.

If you want women to stop being mysterious, just try actually listening instead of saying “Yes, dear” and then doing whatever you want.
As for the Oscar Wilde quote – he was a gay man. He was smart and funny but an expert on women? Hardly.

I’m guessing Dirk Gently is supposed to be a 21st Century Doctor Who.

Roy, when you say that out loud, say “That’s how I feel about you, Kathy,” and not about women in general – just saying…
