My bullmastiff would not do stairs at all. Which was a problem when we took him to a dog show in Montreal and the hotel room was on the second floor. Carrying 150 pounds of blubbering dog up a flight of stairs is not easy. He just couldn’t grasp the physics involved in climbing – even getting him into the car he’d out his front legs up on the dog platform and then look at me and wait until I lifted his back half up.
