LOla; ebru chris...I mean...
Happy enjoyable holiday of yoru choosing, Not that it matters if you do or dont part take in any,
Lola; Is that better?
sal: and without reading it off the card.
ugh I hate this “happy holidays” “joyous season”for more years than most alive can remember it’s been Merry Christmas, now we have to worry about offending people who have immigrated to our country past 20 years or so, and they want USA to accommodate them – just not right
Well, I was born in the USA 55 years ago and have always lived here. Even served in the US Army and I am not a Christian, so it’s not just those who immigrated.
I taught a group exercise class this morning and at the end I said, “If you celebrate it, Merry Christmas. Or, if you celebrate it, Happy Chanukah which starts Saturday. If you don’t celebrate them, have a good weekend once it gets here.”
Most people just wished me Merry Christmas after class.
Merry Christmas, Happy Chanukah, Happy Holidays, or Have a nice day all mean Peace and Good Will to all, so get over yourself and accept the greeting in the spirit it was given! (Not to sound too Grinchy)
One nice thing about being an atheist is not worrying about Christmas greetings. Oh, and going to the Chinese buffet on Christmas day with all the other atheists and non-Christians. What a jolly time we have!
if thin skin gets any thinner………….i guess it only ends when everyone is insulted or offended by everything that everyone else says or does whatever the intention. so the end must be near now.
Not to get away from the “theme” of above comments: I enjoy this strip and find it enjoyable almost every day. P.S.: LIFE IS GOOD! [ it does not last so enjoy it while you can. ]
I have always said Merry Christmas and no one has objected to me yet. I don’t know where this idea that folks should not say Christmas comes from. I guess the only thing to know is that there are different people in this world, and one needs to be respectful towards them all. If you know more about others, then you can participate better in their joys and sorrows.
If someone wants to wish me a Happy Hanukkah, a Fantastic Festivus, a Stunning Solstice or a Righteous Ramadan (yes, I know different time of year), that’s fine. I’m not going to throw a fit. Don’t throw fits if I wish you a Merry Christmas.
