Bob has doubtless been dreaming about just such a possibility for a long long time….

Bob’s a lot lonelier than I am. At least I have the hugs and dances with girls at comic and anime cons to look forward to.

When I lived in Morocco, I was told by a Moroccan friend that many of the women I’d see around my apartment building were prostitutes. This boggled my mind because almost all of the women were dressed in a niqab, which is sort of like a big white bedsheet wrapped around her entire body, so only her hands, feet and ONE eye (yes, one) show — hardly the mark of a temptress, at least in my world. “So how can you tell which are the prostitutes?” I asked him. He replied “A good woman just tucks her niqab into her belt a little bit at the back, and she keeps her eyes down looking at the pavement. A prostitute tucks her niqab at the sides a little as well, and looks at the passing cars and people, because she’s looking for men” (never mind that she may just be hoping to cross the street without being run over because of her badly-obstructed vision). This did not improve my feelings about treatment of women in the Arab world.
