If a bad storm knocks out a cell tower or satelite reception etc. you’re up the creek with a fancy phone that’s is good for little more than candle light. Guess what still works? the land line.
It’s not a rotary dial but we hang on to our old push button dialer. It has come through for us more than once when all communications would have been, otherwise, lost.
Good thinking Ziggy!

Ziggy why don’t you use your smart phone? All though I think those rotary phones have lots of character.

It’s a wonder in our ‘digitized’ world that rotary phones still work.

I wonder if you can even buy rotary phones anymore.

Note to posters: Land lines work as long as a contractor doesn’t dig up the line. (Happened to me, once.)
