For those of us who may be a little mystified by the lonely Rajneesh refugees looking for a new Bhagwan (from the New Oxford American Dictionary):
Rajneesh, Bhagwan Shree |ˌrɑdʒˈniʃ|(1931–90), Indian guru; born Chandra Mohan Jain; known as the Bhagwan (Sanskrit, “lord”). He founded an ashram in Pune, India, and a commune in Oregon and preached his doctrine of communal therapy and salvation through free love. He was deported from the US in 1985 for immigration violations.
“In the cusp of converging ages, one blinding, holy moment of transcendence shall transform the zeitgeist with perfect synchronicity, into the pure, ineffable expression of indivisible oneness.” From Doonesbury today.
In the early 1980s there was a radio show called Radio Free Comedy, and they sometimes had a parody character named Swampbog Shree Dogmeat who preached lofty values while looking for women and drugs. It was great.
I look on old maps of my home state of Colorado and find a tiny settlement southwest of Denver called Shamballah Ashramah. So Rajneesh wasn’t the first Indian guru to build a commune in the U.S.
I am going to have to give up here. I can’t stand the constant delays and how far in the past these things are being published. Even amature web comics have a better grasp of schedule.
Binkley’s Anxiety Closet was the hardest part of the final Bloom County strip for me. Seeing it open, the light on, the walls in the closet and it being empty really drove home that Bloom County was over.

I wish that bed bugs were that huge and green, easier to kill them.
