She has “advanced” over the rest of the class. She is already doing thrown pottery. She just didn’t use a potter’s wheel.

Coil pots are fun, and user friendly. Those with carpal tunnel can produce work almost rivaling that done on a potters wheel by others not so afflicted. As a technique, it’s not just for kids.

I never done pottery if I was having trouble as Elizabeth, I would do the same. When I was in school we was not taught pottery.

You give up too easily. Try harder. Lesson learned.

I was never good at sculpture. Though I didn’t throw it just lamented others had to see it.

Good joke but firing greenware (wet clay) can cause explosions in the kiln. Pots are not fired until they are dried.

Fifth panel: Elizabeth stays after school and the janitor hands her some 409 and a rag.

I sympathize. Everything I did in art sucked and was well below all my classmates. Made it even worse that my mother was an artist and art teacher.

CAN’T is also my wife’s most overworked word (along with won’t and don’t). Can’t seem to get the hang of how to use even the simplest cell-phone. But, when we bought a new TV and I set up the controller, she figured out how to add QVC and Hoarders Served Nicely!

Didn’t you study, train yourself, learn new words on your own? That is what I did.
