We had a houseful of company one year, and since I was about four (and would have slept through the Second Coming) I got elected to sleep on the sofa. On Christmas Eve!

I was absolutely certain that Santa would never leave any gifts if I was in the room. I ended up taking my blankets and sleeping on the floor in the rec room in the basement.
