The original London Bridge is now located in Lake Havasu, Arizona. It was relocated from London, England, in the 60s, when the US town had neither residents nor a river! The oldest documented mustache can be found in a portrait dating back to 300 BC. Sir Isaac Newton stuck a needle between his own eyelid and eyeball and poked around to better understand optics!

I remember eating steak and mushroom pie with a nice warm lager and a beautiful view of the London bridge…While a German Oom-Pah Band played and a southern paddle wheel steamer floated by in the middle of the Arizona Desert. And I thought “Only in America!”

Sir Isaac Newton was a freakin’ nut!
We were in Lake Havasu City and “explored” the bridge. There’s still Brit graffitti on it.

I don’t think the Brits would sell the Tower Bridge at any price.

Moving a famous bridge to a place with no water or people? Sounds like trolling to me. Possibly by a literal troll.

They did an episode of History’s Lost and Found on London Bridge’s transport to Lake Havasu. Apparently, on the way back, the guy who made the purchase was handed a standard duty card for purchases made in London. He looked it over and wrote:
.
“One Bridge. Eight million nine hundred thousand pounds. Exempt: Antique”!

The medieval London Bridge company is still in business, though, one of the oldest companies in the world.
