The blood bank used to call me every 8 weeks. Then one day after they did their tests they asked me when I had hepatitis. I said I had never had hepatitis. They insisted their test showed I did, recommended I see an internal med doc. I did and the doc run his tests & said there was no sign whatsoever of hepatitis. Took the report back to the blood bank, they said no matter, that their tests showed it and I can never donate blood again.
I know what you mean. I have had to wait a year because of a non-malignant tumor surgery, plus a couple months because they couldn’t be bothered to drive their vampire bus to small towns as they used to.
I accidentally figured out how to make RC stop calling me. One time the nurse put me on that killer “table” and walked off leaving me without attention for way too long. My back was aching while she chatted up other patients so I finally got up and walked out. I never heard from them again.

They have finally stopped bugging my wife. I stopped donating decades ago because of anemia.

O positive donors are needed more frequently than any other blood type. O positive is the most common blood type and most likely to be transfused.
O negative donors are the “Universal Donor.” People with O negative blood are universal red blood cell donors, but can only receive O Negative blood.Teto85 Premium Member almost 8 years ago

I’ve been donating blood since 2012 at the age of 17 and I love it. Donated my 15th pint in November last year.

I’m scheduled for Saturday. Should be on track to give my 100th pint this year if all goes well.
