TV: In St. Louis this morning, Senator George McGovern announced his final position on defense cuts. Addressing a press conference, the senator said; "It is time to cut the fat and waste from extravagant military spending! If elected, I pledge to do just that!" The senator said that he was completely committed to this policy and added that "I am 2300% behind far-ranging reform in the area of appropriations for the military." In the other news, this afternoon in Chicago, senator McGovern changed his mind.
