I had a garage door company come and look at my door.Replacing the top section, having it rebuilt with the panels it has in it so it would match the other panels, would cost me about $300.A whole new uninsulated, lighter metal door, with all new hardware will cost something under $600. Installed. And, the automatic door opener could still be put in play with little trouble.I hesitate to have a metal door but a wood door will always have swelling issues where i live and a vinal door would cost twice as much.Someting under $600 it is then.My Christmas gift to myself.Still cheaper than the year i gave myself a MacBook.

Chesney…you forget quickly, don’t ya? What, oh what, will happen in this strip tomorrow.

While I don’t observe Christmas religiously, I still enjoy the season, and all the festiveness, and telling everyone “Merry Christmas”, “Happy Holidays”, and this year “Happy Chanukah”. And the consumer in me does enjoy some of the sales to be had – I got my husband the entire series of X Files on bluray for half price thanks to the sales. And in general I just enjoy all the little things that come with the season – baking, sharing those baked goods with friends, family and neighbors, seeing all the colorful light displays and nativity scenes. And all the wonderful decorations and santas and carolers in malls and stores… And the excited children. The only part I don’t like is people getting all grumpy and grinch-like in their efforts to do all their shopping, or when horrible things like the event in Germany happen because stupid people have hate, not love, in their hearts. So on behalf of the season, whether you observe the holiday or not, MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY HOLIDAYS, HAPPY CHANUKAH, ALL YOU TEN CATS FANS!

HO HO HO! And a MERRY CHRISTMAS to you too, MY DEAR LITTLE CHESNEY! (and you are DEAR, yes you are, Little One!)
