Looks like a sticky situation in the making.

Kevin has no followers but he does have a few adherents.

When the Higgenpoodles find out what he’s been up to, Kevin’s going to have a tough time getting that tub of glue off his backside so he can waddle down to the Tiki Bar (not that they’ll let him in after the last incident).

Some people are regarded as part of the glue that holds the community together….

    Not Kevin.

Kevin is more like the glue the community has to wash out of its hair…..

    and scrape off its feet….

and be careful not to sit on at the bus shelter.

    And Farside… good guess.

Kevin is NOT allowed in the Tiki.

We used to let him in…

only after he took off his jacket, scarf, and hat, and emptied his pockets, and turned them inside out.

But you do remember that last incident.

I was afraid Harvey and Fred would never come back to the Tiki,

and maybe the whole Saturday Schnapps club.

    Say that reminds me….

Mr_Sherman said something the other day I didn’t get a chance to answer…..

I meant to say that if I qualify, anyplace, including Ballard St, as a steadying influence….

    Heaven help us all…..

    Oh…. and to Happy x3 and ChessPirate….

I’ve said it elsewhere but maybe not here:

While <p>&#160;<p> does work fine to make a blank line,

I have a substitution I find easier to remember and type….

Just hit enter enter &nbsp; enter enter

That’s really all you have to remember.

But if you want to know why….

Hitting “enter” twice does the same thing as the <p>'s in your code … it makes sure the following text stays on the next line.

It will look like a blank line in your typing, but it won’t show that way on the comics.

In fact I use just enter enter by itself to keep text on its own line but without a blank line in between.

    &nbsp; is exactly the same as &#160;

Both are HTML code for a blank space…

I find the letters easier to remember because they stand for something:

    “Non-breaking space.”

And there’s no # to remember to put in.

Just be sure it’s all in small letters, no spaces, has an ampersand in the beginning and a semi-colon after.

Then hit enter twice again, before the next line.

What looks like three lines (two blank with only &nbsp; on the middle one) will turn into one blank line when posted.

    JPSteve… yeah, me too.

But if we have to, we will.

I just wish it would include a way… new OR old….

    to post pictures and links.

    You’re right… no hope.

But why not give us back simple text formatting, like big, small, underline and strike-through?

I don’t think their bandwidth or site integrity could be impacted by allowing a couple of extra letters of code….

… or even our previous, more intuitive line breaks.

And you’re welcome, Happy, Doh, and anybody else who picks up that code.

Doh, I learned to post links while still on Comics.com..

but GoComics offered a lot more formatting options…. for a while, at least.

They even started allowing text colors and fonts, with borders, and scrolling marquees…

but as soon as I was getting the hang of (some of) it….. they rescinded that part.

    I’m still a n00b, though… LOL.

    Can’t program, can’t create a whole page.

Montana Lady… now I’ll be thinking of those!
