Why isn’t there an app that has the camera waiting for obstacles so audio visual warnings can be displayed on the screen? Big Brother should be looking out for the least of us.

Funny how each new invention of entertainment gets flak. In the 20’s it was radio, then tv was bad for you, now it’s mobile devices turn.

Of course, you could do the same thing without a smartphone by looking around alertly for traffic and forgetting to look down.

Some cities are installing cell phone only pedestrian lanes. Maybe it will limit the damage to those who can’t take their noses out of their phones.

I don’t have a smart phone. How am I surviving? What am I missing? What happened in the past 3 minutes that would change my life forever? What are my friends eating for lunch? What’s the latest 140-word national policy from the president-elect? I feel so grossly misinformed.

I had to avoid these types about 500 times while shopping at the mall, either that or collide with them. And I heard the word “like” used “like”…incessantly.

Breitbart “real” journalism?? HAR! ROFL! Granted all of them are playing to the minimalist Twitter crowd, and it’s sad. Doing away with teaching cursive, for printing, or texting, is a demonstration of societal reversal. I like my Kindle (an old one that still has a keyboard instead of touch screen- they hate me!) but I still love picking up and reading real books on a daily basis, as with magazines, papers, and other printed words that tend to be more accurate, and checks for truth vs “truthiness” of Colbert.

Even Pokemon Go is aimed more at *distracting" people from the real world, to play the game, actually.

Too much distraction can lead to a reduction in population. Maybe the most effective predator, us, can start accidentally killing more of our own kind thereby creating a larger decrease in population. (Not good for the individuals and their families, but that is what Humanity is doing accidentally.) We create most of our own problems that way.

It is sad that when one of these idiots walks out into traffic this way and gets removed from the gene pool, the driver usually gets blamed.
