amethyst52, looks like another clear day tomorrow. We live on a ridge and this week waking up every day to the brightly lit Olympics to the west, over the Seattle skyline, has been a huge treat! The Cascades to the east tend to come out a little later, and Rainier last of all. Glad you are enjoying it too!
We are getting our first snow of the winter here along the Ohio River this morning. They are calling for one to three inches but the bulk of the snow will go south of me and much heavier snow in the Appalachian mountains for the ski resorts.
I found twelve funny cat pictures worth sharing on Ten Cats Fan Club page on Facebook this snowy morning. Here goes…
Lots of rain in central California. More rain than we have had in 5 years..lots of flooding, but none in my area. I was out in it getting some of the feral cat shelters up off the ground more. Some of them did not even leave and they usually run. They know a good thing. I use those plastic storage bins, cut a hole in the side and put warm beds in there. They take to them very quickly. In one there were three cats, all snuggled together, so it had to be toasty warm in there. A couple of them were late getting to shelter so are wet. Nothing I can do about that. I assume they will dry out.
Got to get back at it..couple more shelters to make then everyone should have a warm bed. 15 shelters..whew..Probably sneak them some treats as well. They cannot help their lot in life, all I can do is make it livable.
@Neal I will go to bed tonight remembering your kindness. Thank you.
. . . . . . . .
My daughter (the one who moved on Dec. 17th) visited today. Her kitty, “cousin” Emma, is doing well in her new home to my relief. Emma has a new brother…Plopper…a male kitty who has never had a feline roomie. He learned today just who is the Alpha cat by chasing Emma…who put on the brakes and hissed at him. Wonder if Emma and Plopper will be the flower girl and ring bearer at the upcoming nuptials.
. . . . . . . . .
PS, Chesney…my daughter’s birthday is TODAY and you may have her shrimp portion…I served her dhool, ham and rice instead!
We’re supposed to get snow Friday night/Saturday. Calling for 3-5" or 4-8" or 6-9" or 8-12" depending on which forecast you believe. Predicting snow along the southeast VA coast is tricky. I’ve seen flurries predicted turn into a foot and I’ve seen heavy snow be a dusting. We’ll see.
Neal, there will be a specially soft and fluffy cloud waiting for you in heaven when you need it. The ferals have ordered it for you, and the rest of us have seconded their motion of you receiving it someday. Thanks for what you do for the “unwanted” cats of your area, you are to be commended !!
We’re supposed to have snow in the wee hours of ;the morning and on into the day. (West Tennessee). But we’re talking about an inch. ha. Everyone is panicked.
The useless mandarins at Vancouver city hall decided to give out free salt to people so they can clear their sidewalks – there’s a shortage for sale in the GVRD and apparently lots of people haven’t the sense to shovel the snow before it turns to ice. Needless to say it turned into an utter gong show with people shoving and yelling at each other to get the salt and even made the national news cast. And it’s supposed to snow again tomorrow and Sunday, glad I’m not at work tomorrow or Monday. I’ll be glad when we’re back to our usual rainy weather. It was very pretty though seeing Mt. Baker bathed in the setting sun driving home
