For those who are looking for more Annie stories, let me suggest newpapers.com. It’s a pay site, but very reasonable for the amount of info you find there. I have successfully downloaded all the Little Orphan Annie stories from the Blaisdell era (1968-1974) and about half of the Annie series by Leonard Starr (from 1979 to 1988). The Starr stories are exceptionally good!
Dr. Dark when he left the dying Japanese Empire he took a modified Japanese D-400 as payment for his services. The largest sub at its time. It was fully loaded. It was designed to launch fighters from it.
