“The Saga of Dr. Dark”(7) 7/8-9/2017

Modern submarines use Medium Frequency (MF), or 1,000 to 10,000 Hz, as their main band to listen, but a new field of Low Frequency (LF), or under 1,000 Hz, is starting to change things. LF has a much longer range than MF, but it hasn’t been used previously because the resolution is much lower than MF and it requires an enormous amount of computing power to make it practical. Dr. Dark had created several models of his compact computing systems leaving his next-to-last version with the Japanese. He saved this for his submarine.

Those 3 ships will dog him all the way to his island. So to get rid of them he will lay some small, but powerful limpet mines. With his own innovations of course. Just one needs to penetrate each of their hulls below the water line to cripple or even sink them. When they explode giving off a short hard EMP that might knock out their electronics. However he knows he is out numbered and soon out gunned in this new world of great developments that he wants. He has to get access to modern technology, himself. (They have directed munitions, the magnets pull that part to the hulls to line it up then fires.)
