COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency) Review Lesson #27: Secret Identities. A couple of lessons ago, we mentioned the ploy of a secret identity; a disguise a protagonist can easily slip into when stealth is required. Like classic professional attire, such things are increasingly “out of fashion” with our graduates. This leads some of our faculty to think the two are related; the more colorful the uniform, the more effective a disguise street clothes become. (Refer to If he wasn’t wearing those glasses… C. Kent, Class of ’38, Dean Emeritus.) Our applicant seems to have chosen wisely in that department, taking up the guise of a humble gardner. Even better, if his services are “out-sourced” by the hotel and he is not on staff, this makes it easier for him to slip in and out practically unnoticed. (Of course, if he is on staff, possible low pay limits his access to helpful resources; this may explain a lot.)In dealing with dual identities, however, one must be careful to keep them “compartmentalized,” never to be mixed. If our budding hero is on the verge of apprehending a bad guy, only to stop and water a neglected petunia, his cover could be blown…
