What kind of idiot doctors? “Who are you? Do you have family we should call? What do you remember? …” In the US only, I guess: “Do you have hospital insurance?”

COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Online (for the duration of the emergency) Review Lesson #38: Miscellaneous – The Kid. As many have suspected, the crash referred to has jogged our Class of ‘24 graduate’s memory back on line, and apparently erased all traces of her adventure with with our applicant. Despite her crash injuries, today she’s looking fresh as the proverbial daisy, a clear testament to her recuperative powers – which maybe one reason why she is reacting negatively to the prospect of more tests. Not that many people in general enjoy getting poked and prodded by doctors, mind you, but in her case such testing could reveal other factors that made her a candidate for the Academy… like a very slow aging process. (She is approaching the centennial of her graduation from the Academy, and she’s still only a pre-teen.) Discovery of superhero status is always inconvenient, and just prompts more inane questions that distract the protagonist from his or her work. However, she is fortunate in that this hospital in the sticks appears to be somewhat limited (if not backward) in its resources. In larger cities, hospital staff might have more means at their disposal to help her recall recent events. Ironically, one of the kid’s associates could be of some help in that department (refer to Punjab, Les Academie d’Acolytes Comique, Class of ’35). Speaking of County Seat General Hospital, it looks like Rex Morgan, M.D. either has staff priviliges there or is moonlighting to try and improve service. This is commendable (the place looks desperately in need of upgrades), but is puzzling; Dr. Morgan is a Class of ’48 graduate of the Soap Opera Comics Institute, and is quite out of his element here…
