    Warbucks is losing it. Once upon a time he would never have supported such a weak reed as this guy, who doesn’t even like the country he’s supposed to be in charge of! In the old days, Warbucks would either have run the place himself, or gotten out, taking his spoils with him (“Ugly American”, anyone? But that was the world Gray was writing in and for.)
