COSTUMED CRIMEFIGHTERS ACADEMY – Paris, Rome, Boca RatonLESSON # 127: Animal Assistance: Some protagonists find it advantageous to have a really smart animal as a partner, in addition to – or rather than – a human. Animals tend toward phenomenal loyalty to their human partners, rather than the traditional sidekick who can turn (or be turned) against a hero for various reasons (Refer to Robin/J. Todd, Class of ’83). Some animals, in fact, have had exploits so outstanding that they almost achieve crimefighter status in their own right. Our board of directors, in fact, is investigating the possibility of founding a branch of the CCA focusing solely on the selection and training of such animals to work with our graduates; some of our “anti-hero” or “lone wolf” students find this an especially intriguing possibility. However, the case of Sandy (breed unknown), does not necessarily qualify for status beyond that of canine sidekick to our Class of ’24 alumnus, despite many a suggestion in that regard. One indication of this denial of special status is the lack of panels beyond more than a couple of days or a completely separate storyline. Research, however, continues.
