The area of the Boston Public Garden, not to be confused with the erstwhile Boston Garden, which was a sports arena, where we see Annie today is known familiarly as The Duck Pond. Perhaps we’ll see the “Swan Boats,” which have been in operation (with a hiatus brought on by the COVID pandemic) since 1877? (1927 was their 50th anniversary!)
I’d be willing to wager that whoever colored this strip had never seen a mallard before. I looked up a webpage full of pictures of mallards and while I saw several with green heads, not one of the images on the page showed one with an entirely green body.
