I know a hack for avoiding the bad luck of a tail-side-up penny. Step 1: Turn penny over. Step 2: Pick up penny.

What happens, Marigold, if one comes across a seven-leaf clover? Seven is a lucky number, though.

Marigold should really find something else to snack on.

There used to be a patch of clover in my mother’s front yard that had five and six leaf clovers along with the normal three leaf clovers and a few four leaf ones.

The manga series “Black Clover” is based on a five-leaf clover being bad luck. Except that the protagonist was so badly off to begin with that it twists all the way around to being good luck again.

That is how I feel about luck.

However, this is only a comic strip, so, I’ll go with it.

A seven leaf clover can see into your soul!

I’ll stick with sorrel.

I wonder if a five leaf clover is Marigold’s/Dana’s comment on the Pentagon.

I found a five leaf clover once and preserved it. It didn’t cause any bad luck.

Then there’s what six-leaved clovers can do in the Oz books—"The Patchwork Girl of Oz" specifically.

This is more true than possibly Dana knows – or maybe she does know and is teasing us. Four-leaved clovers happen naturally but in my experience five and up are due to herbicides. I used to find multi-leaved clovers in Edinburgh all the time in the early 1990s – once I even found one with nine leaves. Then the council evidently changed what they were spraying the borders with and they went back to normal.

I found a six-leaf clover once. It had two stems, too.

“Five, is right out.”

As a 1st grader I once found a five-leaf clover. Me, the silly child, pulled one of the leaves off to show off my four-leaf clover.

Those are leaflets, by the way.

Back when I was a kid (don’t ask when that was) I found everything from 3-leaf all the way up to a 12-leaf clover.

Welp, I found a five-leaf-clover yesterday and then 15 minutes later I spilled OJ all over my lap. Thought the five leaves would be extra luck.
