Dick: Good morning! Lacey: Heavens, Dick! Where are you off to so bright and early? Dick: To garner signatures for my petition drive! I thought I'd start down at the club. Lacey: The club? But it's bedrock conservative, dear. Isn't that a waste of time? Dick: Maybe, but even if I only get a few names, they'll carry a lot of weight. It's Thad's idea. He's handling all the press. Lacey: Sounds like a good strategy! Dick: So what's the reaction to our drive up on the Hill? Lacey: Um... guarded, dear. Sort of a wait and see feeling.
