During my first pregnancy, I was thrilled to find out that I was due at the end of October/beginning of November. I had an irrational fear of slipping on ice and figured I’d dodged that bullet! Wouldn’t it figure that in 2002 we had a freak October snowstorm, there was ONE patch of ice in our driveway, and of course I stepped on it! Thankfully, nothing bad happened, other than me landing on my butt.

Boy howdy! And it can sure disrupt a lot of other things, too.

Been there, done that: resulted in a fractued wrist. At someone is bundled and fell into snow. Only feelings hurt.
