I thought everyone knew you hold the cat down when bathing. As long as they have good footing they don’t scratch… and yes, have had to do it more than once….
I had an old cat that loved to be vacuumed. He follow the cannister vacuum cleaner around, even sometimes, even riding on it, vociferously squeaking ( he couldn’t meow ) until you relented and vacuumed him.
Never tried to bath him, though. I figured hoovering kept him clean enough.<P.Must have been good for him. He lived to be at least 23 years old.( I had him for over 11 years, the girl I got him from, had him for 11 years before that, and he was full grown, when she found him. )
I tried bathing my cat Pinto in the kitchen sink once. He climbed up my arm, over my shoulder and left deep gashes in my back where he was hanging on while I held onto his hindquarters on my shoulder. My husband had to “unhook” him from my back. After that, baths are done in the shower with the glass doors shut.

Opal Pickles must take after Jon Arbuckle in 1978/79 when trying to bathe a cat.

That has nothing to do with the cat. But I did think Opal had her lycanthropy under control.

I once had a cat that would jump into the tub with me and seemed to love it.

Shear torture for cats. They usually don’t need it like dogs anyway.

Yep. That’s the just the sort of thing cats would do.

Opal might want to look up “cat scratch disease”.
